What Would People Think?

What if the entire strategy for healing a fractured world comes down to two words?
In this message from the Rooted and Grounded series through Ephesians, Paul makes the turn from theology to application. The first three chapters answered who you are and what your purpose is. Now comes the how. And after all that grand vision of bringing everything together in unity, the opening move is surprisingly simple: be completely humble. Not humiliated, not a pushover, but humble in the way Jesus was humble, using who he was to transform what others are, coming under to lift up rather than standing over to push down.
That's the thing about humility that most people miss. It isn't a personality trait you're born with or a weakness you tolerate. It's a decision, made possible by knowing whose you are. When your identity is settled in what God says about you rather than what the world thinks of you, you're freed from the exhausting cycle of pride and depression that comes from measuring yourself against other people's opinions. Paul wrote this from prison and called himself a prisoner of the Lord, not of Rome. He surrendered to his circumstances and found they opened doors nothing else could.
