Here’s Mud in Your Eye
March 22, 2026
In this sixth message of The Familiar Stranger series, we dive into John 9 and discover that biblical healing is far more than physical restoration. When Jesus healed the blind man with mud and spit, something profound happened beyond sight returning to useless eyes. The man's spiritual vision grew sharper with every encounter. He went from calling Jesus "a man" to "a prophet" to "from God" to finally worshiping Him as Lord.
Jesus said "we must do the works of him who sent me." Not "I" but "we." After Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit on His followers, healing stopped being a rare miracle and became normative for the body of Christ. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other, and among those gifts is healing. Not just physical healing, though certainly that. But spiritual healing. Emotional healing. The kind that helps people slough off years of baggage and false accusations.
